Playdate Cafe #140 :: Family

Hi Everyone!

I am playing along, for the second time (I think), with the Playdate Cafe Color Combo Challenge...Last week they had this really cool gold, silver and neutral palette.  I tried but it was awful! LOL!! But this week had some really great colors!

I decided to create a layout because my husband is deploying to Afghanistan this year, so I need to get into the groove of making him a memory book.  Of course a 12x12 is too large for desert duty, so all my layouts will eventually get smaller....anyway..here is my creation (my colors don't look as teal-ly as the colors below, but what do you expect from an iPhone?).  As always, Enjoy!

Play Date Cafe Color Challenge #136 :: Shellibrate

Hi Everyone,

My niece recently graduated from Middle School and is now headed off to her freshman year of High School....sigh...time flies. I wanted this card to be simple and flat for mailing purposes, let's face it...she's going to look in the inside, that's what really counts!

This is my first time playing along with The Play Date Cafe Color Challenge and as I looked back at their past challenges I realize that they have some great color combos! I will definitely be playing along with them again but for some reason, I just could not match this pretty blue for the life of me...is this an excuse to go scrap shopping? hmmmm....

Check out this great color combo, to play along just click on the picture to be taken to their website.

Embellish Magazine Challenge :: Let's Go for A Spin!

Shhh...I can't ride a bike! Don't tell anyone my secret okay?

This is weird because I can iceskate, rollerskate and rollerblade but there is just something about me and a  bicycle that just can't seem to get along...which is why I have a tri-cycle! I call it Purple Thunder! It has a huge basket in the back...so the Embellish Magazine Bicycle Color Trends Challenge had me inspired to create a layout with it's great bright color scheme.  One day, I'll post a pick of Purple Thunder but only if you keep my secret...Enjoy!

Scrapmaster Paradise Color Combo Challenge #131 :: Hugs and Kisses

Hi Everyone! My heart sank slightly when I learned that the Scrapmaster Paradise Color Combo will be discontinuing after this last challenge.....  However, Mrs. Samantha assures us followers that big things will be happening starting 1 Jan.  So, my hear sunk then it was uplifted!

So to celebrate this last spectacular SPCC Challenge, I had to do something new and great! Please, play along before your holiday kicks into high gear, just click on the picture below!:

 Here is my creation!

Ingredients:
Sentiment from Scrapmaster's Paradise Artsy, Heartsy Set
All Ribbon and Cardstock from PTI
Spellbinders diecut
Hershey Kisses: always on hand!

What I did was took ribbon in the challenge colors and weaved them to create this basketweave effect. Then topped it off with a sentiment from Scrapmaster's Paradise Artsy, Heartsy stamp set.   Will I do this again?! Yes, it was easy and it was a blast! Here is a close-up of the basketweave:

Would I do it again? Absolutely!!!
